Robret Brown Writes on Depression Blog

I will share a few things that have helped me, because I also resell online and can relate to your situation.
I think a lot of it is because it can be such an unstructured business. This is especially true if you are blending your business activities with taking care of kids, etc.
At a job, someone else has already created a structure for you.... one that is usually designed and tweaked to get the most out of you. Of course, many people in jobs may be unaware of this, but since employers view you as a resource to make them money, they have tweaked the environment, duties, etc to support your productivity and success. Employees operate under a consumer mentality, where they themselves are being served by the company, employer, etc. to a large degree while they work. Think about it. the buildings, supplies, work hours, match coworkers and so on... Of course the specifics vary, but the principle remains the same.
In your own business, you have to be in a 100% producer mindset, shrugging off the years of indoctrination in the consumer/dependent mentality. here are some examples of both:
Wake up, get on the computer and start watching videos...(consumer)
THINK about selling this, doing this, etc. (consumer)
Grab the latest Ebook or Bolo list (consumer)
Get up, ignore the computer for 3 hours and physically work on your business (producer)
Stay offline and write for 1 hour, timed (producer)
Tweak your environment.... DEDICATE time to the house/kids and Dedicate time for ONLY work. (producer)
Be intentional about facebook/youtube time..place serious limits on the time you will spend and stick to it (producer)
invest time to actively and effectively mentor or help someone. SOMEONE really needs your help! Find that person (producer)
Make a list of 10 new ideas about anything everyday...no one has to see... they do not have to be good... EVERYDAY (producer)
These are some things that have been helpful to me. I am a Christian and rely on Christ for strength and guidance everyday, and yet without clarity on the things I have mentioned, I wind up depressed and unproductive.

EBAY STRESS, DEPRESSION, LOW SALES, NO SALES, NO MOTIVATION FEELING LIKE A LOSER
This morning I got a little late witch is not uncommon when your not sure what you are doing. And I say that half heartily, because I should know exactly what I'm doing for the simple fact that I have studied my ass off on how to and what to do in every aspect of selling. So for some reason it's just not happening.
I really can't explain whats going on with me. You know I have dreams of being successful I have idea's and plan's to get there. I really know what I want, but for some reason I just keep spinning my wheels. I pick up stuff to resell all the time and it keeps going in the storage buildings and stock piling up.
In my past I was a real hard worker and somewhat of a clean freak always wanting things just so and organized. I could get up and go and work for the man, but can't get out of bed to go work for myself . Now I'm a stay at home dad, and find it hard to keep up with 3 kids and house hold chores. See for many years before I had a heart attack. I was the guy who would worked everyday and hardly ever would take time off. Sometimes never taking a day off for years at a time, unless there was a death in the family or I was so sick I just couldn't make it, and that was very rare.
I feel wiped out all the time, no get up and go even though I have plenty of reason to, its just not there. My house is a disaster, dishes in the sink clothing pile up in the laundry room. stuff needs to be picked up all over the house the kids rooms look like a bomb went off in them. This has never been me. I feel as though I can't move a head in my business if I can't take control of the simple task of taking care of my own house and this is a huge depressing mater for me. Not to mention winter power and heating bills on top of all of it.
I feel embarrassed to even talk about it, but its so true. I believe I got lost along the way.
Is it because of winter why I'm depressed. Is it because I have to much stuff and I'm not sure where to start. last summer I hauled in truck loads of good items and there still sitting unlisted 90% of it free. And for me its not about getting a warehouse. I have plenty of space, 2 large camper trailers both half full, large barn half full and a house nearly packed full. Is it because I'm over whelmed and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, cause I have too much blocking my view.
I have watched nearly every video out there and have meet some incredible people from all walks of life and listen to there story's. How they came from nothing to becoming successful sellers. They have all given me motivation and idea's. I feel disconnected in some sort of way.I feel like I need a 1 800 hotline for depressed pickers and resellers a place to get inspiration to lift me up.
I need a plan man

DID I JUST GO NUT'S..... WHAT?..... 20 DOLLAR BLOW OUT
Yes its true I just went nut's knocking my prices down to 20 dollars or less on all my items. Many of my items cut down by more than 50%. I must have gone totally crazy you think?
Why am I doing this? Well as of late the sales for my store have gone dead. I have been doing sales regularly and have sold a few items, but nothing to rave about. I took a step back and looked at my prices and saw that most of my products were way over priced. An I couldn't see how people would even consider buying some of my goods at the prices I was asking for some of my junk.
I don't know about a lot of you, but I kinda like it when my printer is spitting out 20 dollar bills in the form of invoices all week and lately I have been lucky to get the printer to even print at all. I was beginning to think it was broke, But its not broke at all, its me I'm the one that's broke, thinking that I can get rich off of junk that I have picked up for free.
Its time to move the Shit and get it out of here no matter what. Yes probably I have items worth a lot more, but its blow out time. Time to make it move and clear out for spring when there will be a ton of stuff coming in, from everyone's spring cleaning.
The stat's show that the majority of buyers will spend around 20 to 30 bucks easily on a sale for a good item at a good price. For me this will works out Considering that more than half of the item I find are generally free or pay very little and if that means I can make 20 bucks off free items, so be it. I make some money and someone gets a great deal. WIN WIN
So guys and girls take the time and look at your prices, and see if there's anything you can do to help your sales
YOU CAN SELL LEMONADE FOR 10 BUCKS A CUP OR YOU CAN SELL IT FOR 2 BUCKS A CUP AT THE END OF THE DAY WHO DO YOU THINK WILL MAKE MORE MONEY

PRICING YOUR ITEMS, ARE YOU A TURN AND BURNER OR HOLD OUT FOR THE BIGGER BUCK?
I suppose its all about the type of products you sell. If you sell old , new or collectables may make a difference in how you need to price your items for resale. When selling your items on eBay, Amazon or any online platform you are competing with thousands of other sellers online. They may not be selling what your selling ,but some are and they want to sell their products too.
One of the most important actions to do is research. If you have been selling for any amount of time you should already know this. Ebay has one of the easiest platforms to do research on, if the product you are selling is on there. In Ebay you can easily put what you have in the search bar, and if its there on Ebay it should come up, if the product is selling on their site.
Once you have found your product you should see that there are other sellers selling the same thing, and the prices that they are asking for that product. Now this is only part of the battle, on the left hand side of the page you should see some links running along the side. You want to scroll down until you see completed listings and sold listings.
Completed listing will show you the listings of sold and unsold items and how they were listed, both auction style and fixed price to give you a idea on what listings sold or did not sell. If they were free shipping or paid shipping and how much were the seller is charging for shipping to get a idea where you should be on your listing.
Sold listing work hand and hand with completed listing, that it separates them and only gives you the sold listings. Use sold listings to give you the percentage of sold verses completed listing. If the Completed page shows 1500 listing and the sold page show 800 sold listing, that would mean that over 50% of the items sold out of 1500 items listed with in that 90 days, and giving you a great chance to selling your item if you price it correctly.
I use these all the time when determining where I'm going to price my items. Generally I look for the highest and the lowest and throw them right out, and try to be someplace in the middle depending how much I need for profit on that particular item.
Profit may vary on what its selling for, and what I paid. If I have item that I got for nothing or paid very little I usually sell those items on the lower end for the turn and burn affect. This is all about what it is and the value of the items at hand. I may what more for a item and am willing to sit on it for a while to see if I can get more money, if that item is rare or there seems to be a lot of interest in a item.
Don't flabbergast yourself with over researching, unless you have something of huge value. The name of the game is to make money ... yes, but sometimes them smaller and cheaper items are better to turn and burn for the easy quick money so you can save for them one of a kinds, that will bring you a nice little payday down the road.
And don't forget LIST LIST LIST

WILL THE REAL MVP PLEASE STAND UP SUPER BOWL IN REVIEW !
What a game if I have to say so myself. even though I'm a New Englander and and have Always been a New England Patriots fan. The Seattle Seahawks have nothing to be ashamed of, other that the last play of the game. they played like Super Bowl Champs and in all rights should have been carrying the trophy home to Seattle....
But that's the way the game goes somebody wins and somebody loses.
Seattle had it wrapped up on the goal line in the last few seconds of the game with at least 2 chances to punch it in for the Super Bowl win. A play was called for a short pass play that turn out to be their demise.
Malcolm Butler reads the play and was all over it intercepting the pass and stealing the win from Seattle.in a incredible play.
What were they thinking?
Here you have one of the best running backs in the league if not the best, that was unstoppable all game moving the ball every time he touch it and you pass the ball on the goal line.
I'm really not sure that somebody's job is on the line there. Marshawn Lynch was a bulldozer all game I watched as it would take as many as 4 or 5 defender's to drag him down on more than one play crushing everything in his path. If I was a owner of any team I would want this guy at any price, he is the real deal.
Another great player and the were many is Russell Wilson this guy was something of a show stopper. I have never seen a QB move like this guy can. New England Patriots could not put a hand on this guy. He was like trying to swat a fly, just when you think you got him, he's gone either slipping away to pass or scampering off for a run down field. Unbelievable to watch him work, fast, nimble, fire plug. I know he's a young guy with a good looking future ahead of him and as a team owner defiantly a want to buy this guy.
This finally Brings me to The MVP. Tom Brady received the MVP but to me he was undeserving of the MVP the way I saw it the game was over until Malcolm Butler caught the interception to win the game.
If Brady has ever shown that he was all for himself he did it here. Because if he really was the man he clams he is he would have gave the MVP title to the man that won the game Malcolm Butler.
That's my story and I'm sticking To it.
