About a year ago I was at a auction and pick up a lot of art that I found interesting, I didn't bid much I think about ten dollars for the whole lot of about ten framed pictures. Some time when by and I sold a few of the old framed pictures and made my money back then some.
There was one framed drawing that haunted me. I kept checking it out and kinda laughed about how ugly the picture was. Thinking it was a drawing of a women really didn't investigate it for quite some time. Then one day I dragged the old women out of its storage spot and started researching the ugly old woman.
To my amazement its wasn't a old women at all, it was a famous model Antonio Corsi. Who was Antonio well it turns out that in the early part of the 1900's he was a man kinda like a Rock Hudson of his time. He traveled the world meet Queen Victoria and many other great people of the period.
He had the look and the features that all the artist wanted at the time and was photographed, painted and drawn all over the world and we have all seen something that he posed for.
Now the question is What do we ask for him if we sell him?
Here is the picture that I found ..... Research Antonio Corsi to learn more!!
Below is the trailer to the up and coming documentary due to be released in November 2015.
This is the date the artist drew this picture
This is said to be Antonio's signiture
This is what was taped to the back of the picture when we found it
Documentary Summary "I prefer to act my parts on a painter’s platform. The actor dies and is forgotten.
I live for hundreds of years – maybe thousands – in the famous paintings in which I appear."
Antonio Corsi – 1912
In 1924, Los Angeles Times writer Carl Clausen said, "To be the original of scores of masterpieces, to be the inspiration of masters and the friend of the great ones of the earth is more than a distinction. Such is the good fortune of Antonio Corsi, the world’s most famous living artist’s model." Corsi’s face and figure was painted, sketched and sculpted by the likes of such great artists as John Singer Sargent, Pierre Auguste Cot and James Earle Fraser. There are statues and reliefs of Corsi found in New York’s Battery Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, St. Pauls Cathedral in London, and countless other locations around the globe. The first series of Pygmalion paintings by Edward Burne-Jones, which Corsi posed for, is currently in the collection of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The New York Times commented, "In [the] sculpture by the Princess [Louise] of ‘The Crucifixion’ and in representations of the same subject by painters, Corsi accomplished what was perhaps his finest and most pre-eminent work as a model… As elsewhere in his long career, the excellence of achievement was largely due to his imaginative concentration."
"I live, I breathe, I feel all of the emotions of the characters I assume.
When I posed for the Crucifixion I lived over again the anguish and suffering of Jesus."
Antonio Corsi – 1922
Corsi died 1924 at the age of 56. An opportunistic silent film actress liquidated his assets. The following decades saw Corsi’s legacy slip into obscurity. Corsi, through energetic self-archiving, marked own his place in history. He not only lent his image to famous works of art that will survive hundreds of years, but kept a record of his own life in hundreds of recently rediscovered photographs and documents. Over the course of 8 years of research, filmmakers Jake and Tracey Gorst have reconstructed Corsi's life history.
Mainspring Pictures is proud to introduce the life and work of this ingenious artist’s model to the public in a new feature documentary. Learning about the life of Corsi will encourage the world to take a fresh look at the works of Sargent, Abbey and many others. By discovering
A FORGOTTEN FACE
IN FAMOUS PAINTINGS
On a recent misty morning rain droplets formed a mournful coating on a bronze statue of an American Indian on horseback in the yard of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Cyrus E. Dallin, the sculptor of the 1909 artwork titled “Appeal to the Great Spirit,” created a figure beseeching the heavens with muscular arms.
Antonio Corsi, the professional model who posed for Dallin, was a charismatic Italian immigrant, famous in his day for endurance and versatility.
He stood in contorted positions for hours before artists as renowned as Edward Burne-Jones and John Singer Sargent. Corsi, with his long nose and knack for tragic expressions, could portray characters as diverse as fortunetellers, monks, knights, Puritans and pharaohs.
But Corsi’s name does not appear on the statue’s plaque. In fact, he has almost entirely fallen into obscurity.
“We really don’t, when we study art history, learn anything about the models,” said Heather Leavell, a chairwoman of the Cyrus E. Dallin Art Museum in Arlington, Mass.
She has been learning about Corsi from the husband-and-wife filmmakers Jake and Tracey Gorst, who (with the executive producers Charles and Tina Miller) are interviewing his descendants and tracking down archival materials for a documentary, “Corsi: Prince of Models.” “It’s like all roads lead to Corsi,” Ms. Gorst said during a recent tour of Lower Manhattan, looking for his likeness on building facades. She found it on the Custom House and Surrogate’s Courthouse, with outfits and props resembling pieces in his huge collection.
“Corsi often wears one of his historic costumes when he receives his guests at his studio,” a magazine reporter observed in 1908, after visiting his Greenwich Village home, cluttered with clothing.
Corsi’s chameleonlike talent, or so he told reporters, was discovered when he was a child. Around 1880 his impoverished family, natives of a hilltop town in central Italy, moved to England and became street musicians. The British painter Felix Moscheles noticed the boy’s outgoing personality and piercing eyes and hired him as a model. That connection led to jobs posing for the Pre-Raphaelite circle and even for Queen Victoria’s daughter Louise.
Princess Louise would hold a cigarette to his lips when his limbs started to ache. “This kept me from disturbing the pose,” he told the magazine interviewer in 1908.
By 1901 Sargent had taken him to New York. (Corsi’s wife, Kathryn, and their three children eventually followed.) He posed for prominent illustrators and muralists, including Edwin Blashfield and Howard Chandler Christy, and for art classes. At his peak he was making today’s equivalent of about $3,000 a week, Mr. Gorst said.
Norman Rockwell was among the teenage students at Corsi’s school sessions. “He would bring his large leather-bound scrapbook to school and, gathering us around him with an imperious wave of his hand, show us photographs of the famous paintings he had posed for,” Rockwell wrote in a 1960 memoir.
In 1912 Corsi reinvented himself as a screen actor in Los Angeles. He took small roles in about 30 now-obscure silent movies like “False Women” and “The Crucifix of Destiny.” He died in 1924, at 56, and an actress acquaintance immediately sold off his collections.
The Gorsts have found fragments of film footage and some of Corsi’s possessions. Paul Rickert, an archivist in Syracuse, owns a batch of Corsi photos, and correspondence has turned up from artist clients and a famous actress who perhaps had an affair with Corsi. (The Gorsts will not yet reveal her name.)
The filmmakers keep leafing through scholarly studies of his clients, hoping to find his name. They are also exploring sites where he is portrayed on the walls, including the New Amsterdam Theater in Manhattan.
Plaster models of Corsi used to appear in Eskimo dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History. “This was his least favorite posing job, ever,” Mr. Gorst wrote in an e-mail. “He said the costumes (provided by the museum) were hot and smelly, and he had to pose for an exceptionally long time.”

Nickie Gardener Ask Green Mountain a Question
Question
Hi,
my name is Nickie. I am just starting to get into reselling. Last year I
lost my job as a security officer and I am struggling to find
employment. I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you make enough
reselling to support yourself? I am looking to get into it full time. I
understand I have to know what to look for and through time I will get
better. What are some items you started out with?
Thank you,
Nickie
Thank you,
Nickie
GREEN MOUNTAINS REPLY
Well
Nickie selling online can be very challenging. That being said it can be
very rewarding if you have the drive and fortitude to always keep
learning. If its Ebay you are considering, this could be a great place
to start. I suggest going out and look at what you have around you. Do
you have thrift stores do you have yard sales and flee markets going on
near you. If you have a extra twenty or fifty bucks to spend on stuff, go
there and look around look at stuff you may know a little something
about and think to yourself can I find something I know I can double or
triple my money on. You will be surprised at the different stuff you
can sell. Keep an open mind because there gold all around you. You just
have to list it. Listing is key list your little butt off the more you
list the more money you will make that is a given. The secret is not so
much what you sell its how much you can put out there to sell, if its on
your shelf and not online it will never sell. There are some people
that have only a few hundred listing and make a very nice living and
there are others that have a thousand or more, all making very good
money. Be constant list something everyday as much as you can maybe five
to ten time a day the more you do this you will sell and do very well.
Do searches on items look at other people's store and see what they like
to sell and if your out and about and see some of the same things then
you know it will probably sell
Thanks for Asking

GOODWILL MANAGER GETS THE SHAFT AFTER TAKING STUFF HOME TO RESELL ...!
I just found out today that at a local Goodwill that one of the Managers got demoted to shelf stocking after she was caught loading high end clothing and other really nice stuff in her car and taking it home to resell online.
Evidently she had been pulling off this little stunt for quite some time before a district Manager was going through some of the inventory and realized something was not adding up. After a little investigation they figured out where it was going and set a little trap for her. A few day's later they caught her right in the act, loading ski coats and and other high end products in the back of her SUV..... Busted!
Cops showed up and she was given a court date Judge order her to return all items that she had in her home and pay restitution. Unable to pay goodwill back was ordered by the judge to work off her dept with goodwill or serve 6 month in jail. Good will agreed to the work off program and now she just stocks the shelf. under supervision, with a cut in pay.
It was said she took nearly 10'000 worth of goods from the Goodwill and return almost 5,000. I guess she will be stocking shelves for quite a little while ........I hope she has enough good will to share for the next 6 month or so..
Sucks to be her

IS THAT EVIL EBAY CONTROLLING YOUR VIEWS?
Just recently came across a post that tried to clam that eBay. One of the most hungriest company's on the internet is ripping you off of views to online stores.
Why in hell would any company want to cut their own throats is be on me. But there is common belief that eBay is doing some evil things to buyer's across the globe.
The concept of a money hungry company stopping you from selling is simply insane....... I mean really what would they have to gain?....... nothing!
But one of things eBay can do is store, sort and analyze data on what has happen in the past. Whether it be from a month ago or 2 years ago.
Ebay has all the tools to track and graft all your data, compiling it to give you a statement of approximate views. This is collected along with supply and demand, keywords, past searches, sale and trends to give you heads up, on whats coming your way and giving the tools to work harder and smarter to make them money.
Ebay is not in business to cut your sales, but quite the contrary. They may have a messed up way of explaining sometimes, but their goal is to inform you that maybe changes could be made to keep your sales up, thus making eBay more money.
JUST THINK ABOUT IF YOU CAN'T MAKE MONEY NEITHER CAN EBAY.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN GET FREE SHIPPING SUPPLIES FROM USPS SHIPPED...RIGHT TO YOUR DOOR !
Many new comers to the Ebay business don't realize that the United States Postal Service will give you boxes and envelopes for free and ship them to your home at no extra cost to you. This is totally awesome to get on board with and start getting a stock pile of boxes to do all your shipping with. Now the boxes come in versus sizes and shapes and you will have to choose the ones that work best for you.
I like to get as many different boxes and envelopes as I can, so I always have them on hand. I may not always use a USPS box, but its really nice to have them and not have to find a box or envelope when I need one quick.
You can generally order as much as you need and they will come dropped at your door with in 5 business days depending where you may live.
For the newbie getting started this make's easy to get your item's shipped.
I have put a link in the side bar of this blog to get you started and getting boxes shipped right to your door in large cap's

Ronnie Hart Is He Really the Man?
Well what do we know About Ronnie Hart the clothing guy? As far as I can tell and what I have seen is that Mr, Hart is some sort of a success story. He also seems to be a very modest guy, even though he has made good money on Ebay as a clothing seller and versus other items. He is very quiet and acts very calm in what he does. He makes it seem so easy, but that's because he has his systems in place that work well for him and I'm sure over the coarse of doing business he has made alterations to improve his sales.
I think I have heard him say that he likes to maintain around 50 listings a week give or take, and sells around 200 items a month on average claiming. Mr, Hart also maintains 800 to 1000 listings on Ebay . It stands to reason he is relatively busy, and must have all his ducks in a row to make his business work.
This year Mr Hart has been doing little video's everyday or so some talking about sales and his thoughts on versus things.
In this video he talks about things to think about when listing any product and helpful tips. If your looking for someone to do your work for you. Ronnie's probably not it, but I'm sure if you just take the time and listen to his video's I think you can get a lot of information that may help you especially if you are a newbie.

WRANGLER
Wrangler has its roots in the Hudson Overalls
Company of Greensboro, NC. Founded in 1904 it was renamed Blue Bell in
1919 (some sources say 1908). For years they manufactured work clothing
for men and during WWII they manufactured clothing for military use.
After the war, in an attempt to compete with the jeans makers Levi
Strauss and Lee, they decided to develop a brand name they had acquired
in 1943 when they bought the Casey Jones Company. This brand was
Wrangler.
In 1947 Blue Bell hired a renowned rodeo tailor, Ben Lichtenstein, or Rodeo Ben, to develop a line of jeans under the Wrangler name. The line was successful and so the Wrangler name was also used for other denim clothing, including that for women and children.
In 1986, Blue Bell and Wrangler were bought by the VF Corporation.

THE COLLECTOR'S CATACOMB #4 Review
I finally found the time to sit down and watch the THE COLLECTOR'S CATACOMB. I have to say I was intrigued at the amount of fun information that was given in the show. Each one of the panel members had exciting items to show. Everything from vintage, antique, militarily, and unique items. They talked about radio's, jewelery, and cool finds from Drew The California Picker. All in all there was some great talk and information about versus items.
The show as a whole seem to me very educational, interesting and above all informative. I am highly recommending this show and plan to watch more broadcast as they come up.
Great show Guy's keep up the good work

The Reseller Wakeup Episode 57 Twenty Dollar Millionaire Bundles Dropshipping Review
Here we are on our first review. We will be reviewing one of the Resellers Wake Up Shows. Let us review the panel. The founder Paul Gummerson has some good experience with selling on Ebay and I think is working with Amazon to make a living from home. Now Mr. Gummerson will be the first to tell you that he's not the guru of everything, but appears to know his video game goody's pretty dam good. As a host to the show, he could use a little polishing up in that area. I have seen that he is really lax on answering viewers questions or acknowledging the conversation and chiming in. Although he does if it's something that he personally passionate about. For his performance on the show I have to give you a 7.5 on a scale of 1 though 10.
On to the other people on the panel. there is generally a few different ones Danica Bailey seems to be a regular on the show and I believe she works mostly on Amazon FBA ( FBA is when a person buys items and list, label and ships to Amazon's warehouses and Amazon packages and ships them out to your customers.) She may do some Ebay ,but don't quote me on that. She is very knowledgeable about what she does. As far as a member of the panel with her interaction. She could ask more questions to special guess I will give Danica 6.9, But still a very good member of the panel.....fair and balance.
One of the Funnest people on the panel would have to be Deborah Goytia. With her sparkling personality and her little hip hop nature she's also a stay at home parent just like the other two if you have a question she will proudly answer it for you. this is where she can get very to the point about about her anwser. Debra is the spark to the show when she got her game on and maybe one of the more informational members of the panel and not afraid to mix it up a little with her cockiness. Debra fun, informational, bubble head kinda crazy
Debra come in at 7.9.
Yesterday they had a very interesting guest who calls himself The Twenty Dollar Millionaire. Now weather he's a Millionaire or not remains to be seen, but he did talk about where he can from and where he is going. Looks as though, he figured out a way to beat out the big sellers with a tactic. Bundling his listings to gain a good customer base and sell more product using drop shipping. Now for many Drop shipping is crazy and prone to a large lost in capital if not done right. Drop shipping is not for everyone, but If you take the time and learn all the good, bad and ugly about drop shipping you could make millions with the right suppliers and the right products. Now consider The Twenty Dollar Millionaire as you go to guy he may not be my first choice. There are hundreds of different way's to work wholesalers and drop shipping and all of this you can't learn form just one guy. But that being said its a good idea to watch the show and see for yourself there is a lot if good information and can give you some great idea's that may work with your business.
